Seventh Day

We traveled today to Mammoth Cave National Park. Jonah really enjoyed his two hour cave tour. He spent half of it being held and walk, ran, and skipped for the other half of the tour. He loves caves and was smiling most of the time. The top photo is Jonah traveling through "fat man's misery" which was no problem for Jonah. The bottom photo is of him looking for purple bears deep in the cave. You would be surprised how many different colors of bears live deep in Mammoth Cave. Jonah once again proved he is a top notch adventurer and was lauded by the ranger for how well he traveled through the cave.

Fourth Day (Part 2)

Jonah is smiling in the top picture. He was a little cold during our hike this morning. He doesn't like 30 degree temperatures with 15 mph winds very much. We did get a light dusting of snow overnight though. Below is a picture of the family around the Christmas tree. Happy Christmas to everyone! I need to go to sleep. The Santa tracker just told me that Santa is in Ohio right now!

Fourth Day

Here are some images of our last couple of days. On December 21 Jonah and the family traveled to see Jonah's Great-Grandmother. She is doing well and was very excited to see Jonah boisterous as ever playing with the toys.
Jonah gets to sleep in Dad's old bunk bed. He is loving it, although he fell out last night. He walked down the hall slightly dazed and let Mom know "I fell out of bed." We came to be a couple of hours later and Jonah's new quote was "the light on the coffee is blinking." Neither my parents nor us have a coffee maker with blinking lights.

Merry Christmas from our little girl!

Our little girl just sent up Christmas greetings! We are so excited! We just found out her birthday is February 5, 2007. Can't wait to bring her home.

Second Day

Day two has dawned with a game of soccer and building a snowman from non-existent snow. Jonah is having a blast playing with his grandparents.

First Day

Today was Jonah's first day at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He had a great time playing with Grandma on the exercise equipment downstairs. Then we ventured forth to Great-Grandma's house. Jonah was really excited to see his Great-Grandma. She had a blast watching him play with toys. It was great to see Uncle Jim and Aunt Alexis also. I am hoping to steal pictures from Mom or Dad of Jonah with Great-Grandma. We got to go and see Santa in Nashville, Ohio at a pretty cool Christmas lights display. Jonah was able to pick out several inflatable Grinches.

We have some incredible news! This is a picture of our newest addition to our family, Elizabeth. We were just to we could adopt her today. The process will still take some time, but we are excited to know that she will eventually become part of our family! I will post more information as I know more.

Jonah got his first two-wheeled bike for his birthday this year. It is some form of Gary Fisher bike that is very beefy. As you can see from this picture he loves to ride it around. He becomes giddy when we offer to let him ride to the local elementary school. He loves this bike more than his trik because he can coast and skid out on it.

Who loves Zion?

Jonah and I got a chance to go and explore Zion National Park recently. Jonah loved it, as he does all camping trips. This picture is of Jonah at Observation Point. He had a blast looking at the deep canyons that surround this point. He sang to me for the entire 65 minute hike out from the point.
Jonah had a blast hot tubing, riding a horse, playing foosball, playing pool, and racing sticks down the fountain outside the lodge we were staying at. We are so thankful for having such a happy and fun loving son.

Little Businessman

Jonah looks entirely too comfortable running the world from his car seat. This photo was taken earlier this year on a trip to Jackson, WY. Jonah is a huge fan of road trips.

A boy's love for his dog

Just thought you might like to see one more photo of Jonah working to take care of Sahara. He has a huge smile, and she is pleasantly tolerating the blanket.

Goodbye Sahara

Tonight, our beloved dog and friend passed away. She went quickly in the back yard. This was quite an unexpected event as yesterday we had her out hanging with us while hiking and climbing. She was about eight years old. Our house now seems empty as we moved all of her belongings to the basement so Jonah would know she really is gone. Sahara had really taken to Jonah. She would constantly want to check on him while he was sleeping. Yesterday, she was in his room the entire time he was having difficulty sleeping. She had a special place in our hearts and in our home. Thanks for all the happy, furry memories.

Jonah climbs too?

This summer we took Jonah climbing in Logan Canyon. He loved the chance to climb up a little bit and then come down. We spent most of the time coming down off the rock and swinging on the rope. He loves to climb and can't wait for a chance to go again.

1st Blog Entry

Welcome to our first family post.

Jonah is now two and a half years old. He is very active and athletic. He loves to play soccer, baseball (with a tee), catch, ride his tricycle, and so much more. We are excited he will be starting preschool in the fall. Two days a week at Park City Academy with dad, and three days a week at Let Me Shine Preschool where his Grammy works. We will have a genius in no time at all.

The family is excited that the rest of the family (except Dave) is coming to visit next week. We will be having a blast in Park City.
